The sun gazes upon the Earth, creating and destroying life; it is the engine on which our ecosystems depend.

The dance piece “Under my Gaze” is an energetic and poetic quartet consisting of three people and an inflated object that is moved by the sun and wind. This inflated sculpture, which is called “Aerocene,” embodies the natural forces that surround us. It connects the earth-bound dancers with the dynamics of the wind and the radiant power and unavoidable influence of the sun.

Through headphones, the public is connected to the rhythmic stamping of the dancers and the ethereal flight of the Aerocene, transforming the open sky over the Unteren Luisenpark into a meditative cosmos. There, they can experience the delicate interplay of force and form, the natural and human.

The performance is open to everyone. The headphones and seats are reserved for ticket holders.

Two dancers perform on a field in black, short bodysuits and headphones. Their postures appear graceful, with their eyes closed or looking downward.
A performer kneels in a heroic pose on a field, her arms are tense as she braces against the air-filled Aerocene air object that is inflated and floating behind her.
A performer moves across a field. He appears to be sinking to the ground, his hand reaching toward the sky, with his eyes closed in a feeling of emotion.
The black, air-filled object hovers in front of the audience seated in a semicircle on the grass. The ropes connecting the object to the performers extend out of the frame on the left.
